ABOUT US
The SaveNorseHome Committee members are residents of the Greenwood, Phinney and Ballard neighborhoods and have close ties to the Norse Home. Some of us are relatives of the founders, former employees, or have been volunteers for years. We are lawyers, teachers, contractors, nurses and senior advocates. All of us have had a family member or very close friend as a resident of Norse Home.
The committee was formed right after the Closure Meeting {(click here to learn more about the Closure Meeting Announcement)} where our 86 residents were informed that they must move out by June 30, 2025. The shock, sadness and anger felt by all made us question the actions of the Norse Home Board and Transforming Age. {(Click here to see the site plan)}
We have met weekly since September 2024. Our goal from day one has been to inform the community and public officials about what happened at Norse Home. We want it returned to the purpose for which it was built:
as an affordable, assisted living home for our seniors.
FAQ
Speak up for our seniors and our history. We are here to listen, organize, and advocate together for the future of the Norse Home.
